If you missed the 10th anniversary festival of Homer Glen's incorporation, you missed a great time! I went last Friday night to see my husband's band play, The New Invaders. I thought it was great that the village tried to get entertainment from the "locals." We live in Homer Glen (with an Orland Park address) and that is one reason The New Invaders were hired. The carnival was big, there was food, music and activities, making this Homer Glen's biggest festival to date. Our friend owns Chesdan's Restaurant and was one of the sponsors.
Homer Glen is Chicago's Youngest Subdivision
The village of Homer Glen is the newest Chicago subdivision and is located in the northeast corner of Will County. Village officials would love Homer Glen to become a destination location and have plans on adding restaurants and shopping on the widening 159th St. More Homer Glen restaurants are popping up and Meijer Department Store will be ready soon. There is talk of Mariano's Fresh Market grocery store opening up in Homer Glen, but that won't happen anytime soon.
Homer Glen is a popular area for real estate and I have a friend who has said she wishes they bought in Homer Glen instead of the town they live in. One of my past clients wanted to live in Homer Glen so badly that she settled for a home that needed a lot of work and updating because that was what her budget could get her.
